While observing there are honestly very few distractions, occasionally a voice will be looking for a student or teacher over the loud speaker but the students seem un-phased by these types of distractions. If a couple of students are talking and disrupting the class, their own peers will turn to them and ask them to be quiet so they can pay attention and the students respect this. I can attribute this almost ideal student behavior to the tone set by my CT in the classroom. They have a large handwritten agreement on how they will respect each other and in what ways hanging up for all to see and they take that pledge seriously. I have not noticed any disrespectful or troublesome students so far mainly because my CT is so on top of the class they do not have a chance to act out if they even exist in the class. After being in this particular observation my teaching philosophy has not changed but definitely expanded. I would love to have the same level of respect and concentration in my classroom some day and I think a lot of the techniques I am witnessing and learning will help me to accomplish this goal.
